One of the most common repairs with hooked rugs is the occasional snag. If the yarn is still there, it just takes a few minutes to pull it through to the back, and carefully rehook the loops. If the yarn is gone, you can go to your stash for a replacement or find creative ways to put in new design elements to cover the repair.
In the rug below, you can see a little of the sky blue yarn has pulled out (on the left-hand side, left of the pink butterfly) but the yarn was gone. Rather than try to get an exact match of the blue, I brought in a cloud in that spot, then added a couple more clouds to make it look like that’s how it was intended all along!
